Thames 03.25 (2025)
Dimensions (framed): 86 cm x 61 cm x 7 cm
Materials: algae from the River Thames, embroidery thread, water-soluble fabric.
Thames 03.25  is the second work in the River Threads series, which explores the ecological complexity of river systems. Created using algae collected from the polluted waters of the River Thames and detailed embroidery, the piece reflects on the river as both a source of life and a site of environmental neglect. By integrating organic material with hand-stitched forms, the work draws attention to the fragility of the Thames and the impact of urban pollution on its ecosystems.

Thames 03.25 invites viewers to look at the river with renewed awareness—not just as a landmark, but as a living system under threat. It underscores the urgent need for care and responsibility in how we interact with and sustain our waterways.
