Dimensions: 2.5 cm x 1.5 cm x 1 cm per sculpture; total installation 10 x 10 meters
Materials: wild clay, raspberry, dried banana peel, crushed eggshell, coffee grounds
For this project, I collected local London clay to create small sculptures, embedding cores of biomaterials within them. To give them color, I painted them with berry juice. Left unfired, the sculptures gradually dissolve into the soil, releasing the biomaterials as nutrients for the earth. The duration of the work is entirely determined by the weather, making the process of transformation and return an integral part of the artwork itself.
